Working Groups

These pages provide information on the issues that the HGC have considered in their Working Groups.
The HGC currently has three Working Groups.
1. Common Framework of Principles for Direct Genetic Tests working group
2. Genetic Discrimination working group
3. Preconception Testing working group
Often Working Groups look at a complex issue, discuss it and then produce a report. Previous Working Groups have considered:
- The National DNA Database
- The forensic use of genetic information and the National DNA Database (Citizens' Inquiry)
- Genetics and reproductive decision making
- Profiling babies at birth
- Genetic testing services supplied direct to the public
- Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (joint with HFEA)
- Storage, protection and use of genetic information
