Dr Rosalind Skinner
Principal Medical Officer & Clinical Geneticist
Dr Skinner represents the Chief Medical Officer of Scotland on the HGC. She is currently a Principal Medical Officer in the Public Health and Health Policy Division of the Scottish Executive Health Department.
Dr Skinner joined the Scottish Executive (then the Scottish Office) in 1988, having trained in public health medicine with Lothian Health Board in Edinburgh. Prior to this she was a clinical geneticist in the University of Edinburgh for many years. During this time her main research interest and publications were in the field of the genetics of neuromuscular disease.
